Before we begin, let's understand how the plans work.
All of our Plans are "Per Studio." Within Hive, you will organize your Studios nested in Organizations. The Organizations are simply a way to organize multiple Studios, but the studios themselves are each on an individual plan. As you plan out how you will integrate Hive into your workflow, be sure to consider that a single studio as a single subscription.
Subscriptions do not share between multiple studios or within organizations, they are unique to a single studio.

Cloud Usage and Overages:
Cloud Usage is calculated based on the number of sources, minutes, and users in your studio.
It's important to note that usage is only accrued in Cloud mode. Local mode has unlimited usage on all plans.
The Formula is Simple:
Usage = # of Sources * # of GB used * # of Active Users
If you exceed your plan's included usage, you will be charged an overage fee based on your plan's overage rate. Overages on Hive are additional usage costs incurred when you exceed your plan’s included cloud usage limits. On the Free plan, users do not incure overages. Instead, exceeding the included usage limits results in a switch to local mode.

Usage Examples
To help you better understand how usage is calculated and how it affects your billing, here are a few hypothetical scenarios with common setups:
Scenario 1: Small Team Produces 4 times per month
Plan: Standard
Sources: 2
Users: 3
Productions: 4
Production Length: 60 minutes
Usage Calculation: 2 Sources * 3 Users * 4 Productions * 1GB per each 25min = 59GB [~1440 Min]
In this scenario, the team would within their included usage of 60GB or roughly 1500 minutes and would not incur any overage charges.
Scenario 2: Large Team on Pro Plan with Overages
Plan: Pro
Sources: 4
Users: 4
Productions: 5
Production Length: 90 minutes
Usage Calculation: 4 Sources * 4 Users * 5 Productions * 1GB per each 25min = 288GB[~7200min]
The Pro plan includes 250GB of usage, or roughly 6000 minutes. In this scenario, the team has used an additional 48GB, or roughly 1200 minutes, which would calculated as followed:
48GB[~1200min] * $0.35/GB = $16.80
This $16.80 overage charge would be added to their monthly bill of $99, for a total of $115.80.
Tips and Best Practices
Service Restriction for Free Plan: Upon reaching the included usage limit, Free plan users are switched to local mode and cannot accrue overages.
Monthly Billing of Overages: Regardless of whether you're on a monthly or annual billing cycle, overages are billed monthly.
Update Payment Methods: Ensure your payment information is up to date to avoid service interruptions due to unpaid overages.
Consider Plan Upgrades: If you frequently exceed your included usage, consider upgrading your plan to one with a higher included usage limit and lower overage rates.
Use Local Mode: For all plans, remember that local mode does not accrue any usage or overages, offering an alternative when you’ve reached your limit.
