Overview
The Image Tray in Hive gives users full control over camera image settings such as exposure, white balance, and gamma. Located in the UI's upper-right corner under the Image tab, this tool provides intuitive navigation for adjusting, saving, and managing presets for various camera models.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Accessing the Image Tray
Open Hive.
Navigate to an Organization and Studio with Video sources.
Select the desired source from the Source Tray
Locate the Image tab in the upper right-hand corner of the UI, just beneath your Username, Notifications, and Monitoring icons.
Click the Image tab to activate the Image Tray.
2. Understanding Image Categories
Depending on the camera and its driver, available categories will differ (e.g., Exposure, White Balance, Detail, Picture, Gamma).
Expand or collapse each category to access or hide its parameters.
Hive follows the Manufacturer’s parameter mapping as closely as possible to make navigation easy for those familiar with their products.
Take time after adding a new source to explore the Image tray and familiarize yourself with the Driver’s categories and how they are organized in Hive.
3. Adjusting Image Parameters
Click into any category to reveal settings.
As you make changes, updates appear live in the Preview window.
If the settings you manipulate do not adjust as expected, please contact support at [email protected] so we can make your experience better!
4. Saving Image Presets
Click the Preset button at the top of the Image Tray.
A new window opens on the left to manage presets.
Creating a preset is essentially creating a Snapshot of all the Image Settings’ Values as they are currently for that video source.
Create a new preset by clicking any of the ‘+’ symbols or click on an empty preset frame. You can name it by clicking on the label and typing. You can reorganize your presets by using click-and-drag.
Presets are helpful for multi-camera setups and time-of-day tracking.
NOTE: The Presets are unique to each video source. Saving a preset will only save that video source’s settings.
5. Using Presets
Click on a preset frame to activate the Preset.
Making any parameter change will remove the highlight, indicating that you're no longer matching the preset.
To save a new version, create and name a new preset.
6. Deleting Presets
Click the trash icon beside a preset to delete it.
This is a permanent deletion and cannot be undone.
7. Resetting Settings
Click the Reset All button at the top-right of the Image Tray to return to default values.
8. Finding Missing Parameters
If a setting is missing or not where you expect it to be:
Click the settings (cog) icon in the lower-right corner of the source window in the Source Tray.
Check advanced settings.
If still not found, contact support to give us that feedback! We are always improving and fine-tuning our product to make it better.
